Chip Story...Chapter One

The story begins in the rugged old mill town of Lawrence, MA. Back in 1992, Regina Ragonese was carving a path as a realtor when she bought a shuttered restaurant. It was a simple transaction yet there was something important to
consider: the restaurant was a beloved eatery whose closure left a considerable void in the community. The restaurant needed a major overhaul but it also needed a sympathetic spirit to step in and reopen it. In 1993, Regina made it official: she reopened the restaurant and made the fasten-your-seatbelt transition from realtor to restaurant owner.

Regina moved quickly and made deep and lasting improvements. The result?

Business boomed, customers raved, and her homemade pita chips (made with leftover pita bread) became house favorites. The feedback was so good and the demand was so intense, that Regina made her next pivotal move: her seasoned pita chips would make the transition from restaurant table to supermarket shelf. In 1998, Regina sold the restaurant to a valued employee.

Meanwhile, she kept the chip business and moved manufacturing into a 4000 square foot plant (she moved again into a new 25,000 square foot facility in 2005).

Chip Story: Next Chapter
Regina takes great pride in knowing that she created the first all-natural pita chip. She's proud of this distinction and she takes equal pride in knowing that every chip is made with premium ingredients such as non-hydrogenated soybean oil and unbleached flour. The primary goal now as Regina (and Regenie's) moves forward is to be the preferred snack for the health conscious consumer of today. Can she accomplish this? If anybody can do it, it's Regina Ragonese, a woman who turns a plan into an accomplishment, a challenge into a triumph, and makes magic out of leftovers.
